Aces at The Maj is an annual independently-produced and curated season of shows as part of FRINGE WORLD, hosted at His Majesty’s Theatre.
We are one of the festival’s ’top tier’ independent producers.
We have produced many shows in FRINGE WORLD for 11 years, winning multiple ‘best of’ festival awards – including three ‘Best Cabaret’ awards. For the past 7 years all our shows have been presented at The Maj.
A Luxury Fringe Experience
We actively differentiate ourselves in the larger FRINGE WORLD by staking a claim as the home of the ‘luxury fringe experience’. Our high calibre shows, choice of venue, comfort, hospitality offering and marketing support this proposition. Our multiple shows nightly are programmed in the iconic Downstairs at The Maj.
We are a multi-genre program featuring live music, cabaret, comedy, musicals, opera and theatre. Each show typically has a 4 night season, Wednesday to Saturday, with the line-up changing weekly.
Award Winning Producers
Aces at The Maj is a trading name of Australian Cabaret Enterprises Pty Ltd, owned and operated by award-winning producers Neville Sice and David Read.
We have both worked in the arts sector for over two decades, having first owned and operated the Melbourne independent flagship venue The Butterfly Club which played a pivotal role launching Perth-born artist Tim Minchin’s early career.
We have managed several successful national and international tours, as well as the Melbourne Cabaret Festival and Lorne Festival of Performing Arts.
